All Student Show 2012 - How to Submit Artwork

Guidelines and Requirements:

Submit your artwork from March 3/19 through 3/24 on the submission table outside of the 3rd Floor FAC Gallery. Work will be collected at 5:00p.m. every night and stored for safekeeping.

Two-dimensional and three-dimensional works accepted.

You may submit up to three pieces.

All artwork MUST be labeled.

Entry labels can be found on the submission table.

Accepted two-dimensional artwork must be framed. 

Work must be ready-to-hang by Wednesday 11 April 2012.

All transportation of the artwork is the responsibility of the
individual artist.

Unaccepted work will be returned to the submission table outside after Monday 13 April for pick-up.

STANDING ROOM ONLY: A BFA Senior Exhibit

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The work of Viterbo University student artists Donald Padrnos, Derek Freese, and Alice Ruff will be featured in an exhibit entitled “Standing Room Only” opening in the Viterbo University Gallery with a reception from 7:30–9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29.

The students are seniors in the Viterbo Bachelor of Fine Arts program. Padrnos will display multi-media collage works, Freese will exhibit sculptural ceramics and furniture, and Ruff will display prints and drawings.

“Standing Room Only” will run until Wednesday, March 28. There is no admission fee to the gallery, which is located on the third floor of the Fine Arts Center on campus. The gallery is open from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. when school is in session.

Nature Theater

The photography of Linda Rossi will be on display in an exhibit entitled “Nature Theater” opening with a reception in the Viterbo University Gallery from 7:30–9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25. Rossi describes her work as “primarily large-scale photo installation including video and sculpture to illuminate both historical and current issues.” Her art has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg and the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art in Iran. Her work is also part of the permanent collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

“For years, photographer and installation artist Linda Rossi has illuminated the intimate relationship between the human personality and the Earth, seeking to engender our civic response to and reconnection with the sensuality of the planet,” wrote art critic Cynde Randall. “Rossi’s love for nature resonates in her art, leading us to the things we forgot we, too, once loved.” Rossi is an Associate Professor of Art and the Chair of the Art and Art History Departments at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. She teaches Photography, Digital Photography, and Critical Issues in Contemporary Art.

“Nature Theater” will run until Friday, Feb. 24. There is no admission fee to the gallery, which is located on the third floor of the Fine Arts Center on campus. The gallery is open from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. when school is in session.
